The Press Publisher Online Magazine Publishing System has taken a major step forward in its evolution. With the users on the system giving us ongoing feedback, we have taken these recommendations and incorporated many of these new features to make a more robust and versatile magazine publishing system.

A few of the latest additions to the system truly make the system a one-of-a-kind publishing system to meet the needs of more than just magazine publishers. Here are the significant upgrades:

RSS & Atom - RSS and Atom feeds are provided by the current issue, past issues, departments, and even articles. This feature provides the user the ability to hone in on the specific topics that interest them.
Podcasts - A fully integrated podcast system has been added to the Article Level with a podcast RSS Feed for the overall site. A podcast associated with an article can be listed to via a flash integrated panel for listening right within the site. A secondary program is not needed.
Archives by article type - Complete archives that are not issue dependent are now available for Cover Stories, Featured Articles, Departments and Podcasts.
Department Adjustments - A nice featured for department pages is when a single article is placed in a department, the full article shows, rather than a list of a single article.
A newly designed, more user friendly CMS - The new CMS (Content Management System) for managing your magazine has been added. The system is easier than ever for a novice user.
A new WYSIWYG editor - A greatly enhanced editor for customizing your copy has been added. This incorporated a Media Upload Manager for uploading Flash, PDF, Word, Video and Audio files.

These new features truly make it a versatile and powerful system for any magazine or podcasting website.

New Publishing System

From the same developers that built the Press Publisher Magazine Publishing System, a new system designed for churches has been released. The site and system is called the e-Churches - Church Website System. This system could be one of the easiest and basic content management systems ever created, but offers a simple, limited and basic website system just for churches, with some great features to give the church website some depth.

The signup process takes a user about 2 mintues and an email with thier password to access the system is sent. Within 5 minutes, a user can have a website up and running with content already uploaded. There are three different levels of registration from a Free Church Website to a larger more feature-rich offering with a Free Domain name.

Like the e-Churches system, a similar system was implemented for Coalitions in the State of New Jersey. The system is New Jersey Coalitions (www.NJCoalitions.com) and offers the same features as the Church Website system.

Both systems provide a fast, easy-to-use website, featuring a FREE WEBSITE option for an early stage coalition or church website and two other reasonably priced packages to meet the needs of most websites. You can be up and running in five minutes including a two minute sign up process, with a selection of pre-designed templates. Easily manage your pages with a simple editor and Media Upload Manager (for Audio, Video, PowerPoint, PDF, Word and Flash files). Need a custom design? People Power

It is always a wise decision to keep certain developments under wrap's until the deal is sealed, so to speak. But the issue of finding quality people to be part of your project is a seemingly endless struggle to maintain.

All organizations must struggle to reach a balance between quality and affordability. We all want the very best, but unlike large public company's who have coffers ready and willing to chow down on the finest minds in the world, small organization have no such resource. What is the way to overcome such an obstacle with limited resources, and can it even be done at all?

Such rhetorical questions will go on for eternity, but we are happy to say that a preliminary agreement has been reached for a sales and costumer relations manager to oversee our internet publishing empire. She is not new to sales and marketing and has a sound understanding of the internet, but we all can grow that area of our portfolio, even the very highest of us.

We will disclose more information as it becomes available but let's all keep our fingers crossed that this comes to a amicable and mutually beneficial fruition.

Press Publisher Gets Noticed

It seems as though it was just a few days ago since we released the new Press Publisher system and made our first entry into this blog. Actually, it was just about a week ago.

Since that time we have had the opportunity to be featured in www.Publish.com, "The Definitive Authority on Web Publishing and Print". See our featured writeup. It is always a pleasure to see such a noted online publication take notice of our efforts and we can only hope the we fullfil our own expectations in making enhancements to the system that will make it the definitive online publishing solution for the masses.

Already in the works is an RSS feed, photo gallery, bulletin board system and an advertising system that will allow users to easily profit from their online publishing expereince. While the ideas for growth in the system are extensive, we have to keep some anticipation with our clients. But most of all, we look forward to receiving feedback from our users to help grow and enhance the system.

A New Day at Press Publisher

It is, to say the least, a fantastic day at Press Publisher. We have been working on this system for longer than any of us can really remember, but we have finally made it a reality. Formerly known as Periodical Publisher, the new system is called Press Publisher - Online Publishing System.

We came upon the realization that there was no truly affordable software that specifically catered to an online publication or periodical. Small magazines and independent publications had no system designed exclusively for them. Blogs, while highly effective were being forced to serve a purpose they really weren't designed to do. So the idea was born and finally, well over a year later, the system is now live.

Our main concern is with the templates. As a fast integration, we registered with Monster Templates and linked to a company that offers free templates to download. This would allow users to have a great selection to choose from, but this will not stay. We are currently considering a variety of companies to partner with to offer a series of pre-designed, free templates to choose from. This is almost complete and we will be including those in the coming weeks.

Overall, the system has been well tested with a variety of clients and organizations with excellent reception. We have produced a series of unique content management systems over the years, but this is by far, the most well designed and functional system we have built or seen for that matter. That is not to say that it is complete. Is a software package ever really complete? We look forward to a larger audience seeing and providing us with their feedback so that the system functionality will grow based on user comments and recommendations.

All in all, we are proud to have made the system/website live and will continue to improve both the website and system. In addition, we have been collecting publishing resources that we will be including on the site and will cover those here on our blog.
